Filter Coffee

V60

One of the most iconic pour-over brewers in specialty coffee culture.

V60 is an alternative filter coffee method and one of the best-known representatives of pour-over culture. The idea of filter coffee took shape in the early 20th century when Melitta Bentz created the first paper coffee filter in 1908, laying the foundation for modern filter brewing.

In 2004, the Japanese company Hario introduced the V60 brewer. The name comes from its cone shape — a V form with a 60-degree angle — allowing water to flow evenly through the coffee for controlled, clean extraction.

V60 highlights the coffee's natural flavour profile. Fruit, floral, and acidic notes are expressed more clearly, while balance depends on grind size, water temperature, and pouring technique.
